Record Collection
That guy is actually giving away that collection. Wish I could buy it.
Top Five Kid Rock
Huel Perkins, nice Graham.
Huckabee's honest endorsement of James Jamerson on bass guitar
I'd think you'd include Mike Huckabee as an expert of sorts. From his website, www.mikehuckabee.com:
"Huckabee, 51, enjoys playing bass guitar in his rock-n-roll band, Capitol Offense, which has opened for artists such as Willie Nelson and the Charlie Daniels Band, and has played the House of Blues in New Orleans, the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, CO and for two presidential inauguration balls."

Teddy Brent
Bettye LaVette is wonderful and has a superb voice. So much talent around! Teddy Brent is another one i like. They talked about him on CNN entertainment last night but never said where i can get a CD. Anyhow...good luck Bettye! You desrve the hest.
Teddy Brent new CD Fashionable
My son recently purchased a CD of an artist i have never heard before: Teddy Brent. I listened to it last night and it is superb. If anyone has some information on the artist, exc, i would enjoy to read more.
Diamond Dave
Absolutely brilliant. The rest of the losers in that band should have never forced him out. If that guy doesn't exude confidence and showmanship, who does? Only one person can make cheezy sound so cool.
Mike Huckabee endorses Jamerson, Funk Brothers
I don't necessarily think he's the guy to lead the country, but as a fellow bass player, I have to admire Huckabee's knowledge and understanding of "The Groove"! Rocco Rules!
RNR hall of lame
I agree with reader James Gemmell about Deep Purple. "Smoke" was the first song learned on guitar for 90% of new players from the 1970s on. Richie Blackmore is an amazing, underrated guitarist (as good as Page, at least!) and Ian Gillan has THE rock and roll voice. Almost everyone that has been apart of Deep Purple has been a phenominal musician. Don't get me started on John Lord either...
rob zombie concert
adam-you blew it,not only is john v from detroit, but so is the drummer, tommy clufetos.he has been playing professionly since the age of 11-and has been in such bands as mitch ryder, ted nugent, and alice cooper.a lot of rock talent has left detroit and moved to l.a.--it would be nice to see articles on these successful performers when they come back home.i agree with you that ozzy-needs to hang it up--but his band is good.
ozzy fan
Hey adam, are you a metal fan at all? do you like loud music? do you like ozzy? I love music, ozzy is one of my favs. i thought his performance was fantastic as well as zombie's. I do'nt expect orchestra like perfection when i go to a metal show. I was in sec. 123, and the energy level of both performers was unbelieveable. I think that the thousands of people around me would most certainly agree. every time ozzy said "LOUDER" the joe erupted. No,ozzy can't do the things he did 20 years ago but his on stage glee is still "bleeping awesome". you certainly get your moneys worth seeing ozzy. adam , you are likely more suited to clay aiken or barry manilow.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Hey Susan! What about Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels? I think they are way over due.
you just listed 1/3 of why i hate xmas songs
it's skipping the part with how like church hymns, they all sound the same and are equally annoying
Dressing Down Sonic Youth
I enjoy edgy music, but I've never fallen hard for Sonic Youth, either. Seen 'em live a couple of times and that's still the best way to experience them. Their records tend to leave me somewhat ambivalent. I suppose small doses is best -- like when my iPod shuffles one of their songs into the mix. Honestly, too much Sonic Youth gets old quick. More annoyingly, there's a tendancy with hipster rock fans to idolize SY for their innovative, feedback-drenched sound and steadfast indie spirit, but I think the band is better as a concept than an actuality.
blake lewis!
i'm with you, adam. blake lewis is, in fact, awesome. i was a huge fan of his when he was on "american idol" and i'm incredibly happy that he's putting out good material. i think "break anotha" is going to be huge and i'm expecting great album sales for him. i just wish the WGA strike would get resolved so that he'll be able to do some decent promotion when the album drops. (well, i also hope it's resolved so that the writers get what they deserve, but that's a whole other topic of discussion.)
