So, he should give up protection?

Plus, silly person, a Suburban can be very efficient if it is used to transport several people. Are you suggesting that Obama drives one alone?

Or, is your real fantasy here that folks like you can persuade Obama to give up his Secret Service protection -- and get himself killed by one of you "good conservatves"?

Your blog post is irresponsible.

MI Winter & Global Warming

Average Annual Temperature is the most important variable in assessing whether our world is warming, but extremes are important also. We have had MOST of the warmest days on record in the last 10 to 15 years. Also, the earth is currently in a relatively elliptical orbit phase that should result in cooler temperatures, all other things being equal. So we would be even warmer if the orbit was in a near circular orbit phase.

George Romney Caricature

You didn't really capture George Romney well at all. Your drawing makes him look more like an Irish pugilist or union boss from the 1930s.

If you want to know what George Romney looked like, look at his son, Mitt. Mitt is very reminiscent in appearance of his father. While I never met the man, I remember him well and I remember his "brainwashing" statement. The News' artist at the time had a cartoon of him at a sink washing his hair--and pretty much washing his campaign down with it. Both father and son are marked by distinguished lantern jaws and a more of a squint and a twinkle in the eye because they smile a lot (as you would expect of pols) along with craggy lines along the face from all that smiling.

I'm not a Romney supporter. I think he's as slick a politician as ever was born, but I do admire his and his father's accomplishments and dedication to public service.

George wasn't a bad governor, but I think he was always more ambitious than he should have been. He should have never run for the Presidency. Instead, he left the governor's office to the incompetent Republican cum liberal William Milliken who never met a tax he didn't like. We've spiraled downward ever since.

Planet UAW cartoon

What an insult to working people everywhere. I'd like to see Mr. Payne maintain his lifestyle on $14 an hour. The UAW worker makes a product the enhances our lives. Mr. Payne makes childish drawings and comments that he thinks are insightful and funny. I have never needed Mr. Payne but I have purchased many cars in my lifetime. He slams a Union that has improved the standard of living for millions of Americans, he should be ashamed to accept anything more than $14 per hour as compensation for his so called work.

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the post was sent to us in response to an article, clicking on that post's headline will retrieve all comments on that article, and clicking on the "See related article" link will send you to the article itself.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.

If you find a problem, please tell us, and thanks in advance for your patience as we work to improve the forums for you.
