Tigers starter Justin Verlander pitches to Yankees batter Hideki Matsui in the seventh inning. Verlander gave up just three hits in seven full innings, striking out six and walking two to earn his 14th victory of the year. The Tigers pounded the New York Yankees 16-0 to take three of four against the Bronx Bombers at Comerica Park in Detroit. The game was played Monday, Aug. 27, 2007.
