Honorable mention: "Stone house" by Steve Watz of Troy. "I took this photo on a farm road outside of Bad Axe last summer," the photographer says. "I was searching for subjects to try out a new technique, (for me anyway), I had been reading about called 'tone mapping,' where 5-7 exposures are combined into one image. It gives you a photo that comes close to showing what your eye sees, mostly shadow and highlight details."
