 The Deer Encounter at Belle Isle Nature Zoo

A buck, left, and doe enjoy some shade at the Deer Encounter at the Belle Isle Nature Zoo May 17, 2006. Belle Isle has approximately 200 Fallow deer, all native to Europe. There are one male and 12 female deer in the zoo enclosure, and visitors can see them close up and feed them rye crisp crackers during their nature center tour.
