Briefly:
"1)Apparently "reputation" on a message board is important to you, so much so that you make up cute little names for other posters, plagiarize the writings of columnists, never make an argument outside of calling other people's arguments "stupid" "absurd" etc."(Apparently posting blatant lies about others indicates the kind of rep you deserve Duds, so be it.)
2) "I read your post explaining the asthmatic son thing, but I took the liberty of embellishing because I knew it would annoy you."(I didn't take it as embellishment, I took it for what it was, a lie, which makes you a liar, which in truth, I do find annoying.)
3) "I think maybe you live this place a bit more than is healthy. But if that's true, I don't care."(Then why bring it up, since that would be none of your business, and since I don't care about your opinion on that subject, you just wasted our time.)
4) "It'll be more fun now watching you deny being a leftist"(Which is funny, because I never have done that, you don't comprehend what others write very well.)
5)"And....weren't you done with this topic awhile back? Or is that just one more decision you cannot seem to make without government assistance?"(I am done with it now, and again, the "government" had nothing whatever to do with that decision, as you grow increasingly flustered, your attempts at arguments grow ever more feeble, which is tedious.)
6)
"Keep trying to justify yourself, even though it brings into question the validity of your claim to being an adult."(Anyone who seeks affirmation from an anonymous internet message board has real issues, I don't desire to justify myself here, I just post my views on various issues. As for adult status, you seem to specialize in posting propaganda that you hear on talk radio in place of well reasoned arguments and positions, which is childish, like you seem to be. Later Junior, stay out of the deep end next time.)

Ya know, PO, I don't know what you got going with Clortho and all this garbage about these authors who made money off of stroking your ego, but there is one thing that all your victim class whining can't get around, and it is the one thing that YOU ar afraid to face, as are most blacks tha argue in favor of Affirmative Action.
That is simply the underlying fact that Affirmative Action exists to provide access to opportunity based on one factor and one factor alone - - - RACE. This one salient fact makes it an example of institutionalized racism. And because of this, those that support it are no better than George Wallace, Strom Thurmon, and every other white guy that ever thought whites were entitled to some priviledge because of their race.
Racists are as racists do, and those who fight to preserve racist laws are racists. Pure and simple.

Duane, here is where your privilege raises it's ugly head. Yeah, you are right, people shouldn't be worried about it being "time" for a black president, a white president, a brown president, right? Sounds mighty profound from one who has NEVER, EVER had to worry about a brown or black or yellow one. It really does. But now, the comfort level is shaken.
For real!
You see Duane, privilege is invisible to those who have it.
You never had to "worry" about not having a president who was white like you. And only once in 240 years and 43 presidents, have you ever had to even worry about it not being a white "man". That in itself let you know that even if he disagreed with your "philosophy, he was still one of you, and wasn't going to pose a threat of revolution or inssurection. I mean, you know what I say about Dem and Repub prez's. They are still white guys! Somewhere there is documentation that says all 43 came from the same lineage. How privileged amnd elite is that?
But now, suddenly there actually is one that doesn't look like you, and what is the first thing we hear? Is he really American? Is his agenda anti-American? Is he working in conjunction with the Muslim agenda, the terrorists agenda? Why is his name Hussein?
All that crap about him being removed from the American mainstream like no other serious prez candidate has ever been. Like no white candidate has ever had to endure.
And you have your Right-wing nuts like (Cunningham?) the one who kept repeating "Barack HUSSEIN Obama! Barack HUSSEIN Obama! at one of McBomb's first rallies. I mean, what was that all about?
Don't bother to explain. We already know. That RightWing-nut was "infusing" that fear into white folks hearts - white folks dumb enough to believe it, (and there are plenty, evidently) - that this man is alien, a foreigner, not like "us"- "not one of US", and most of all, someone who has a Middle-Eastern middle name. Even worse, the same name "used" to scare white folks into letting the current Oval nimrod attack his country. Don't play dumb with me Duane. Not only doesn't it become you, but it insults me.
The reality? Whites (some) are feeling uncomfortable with the prospect of not having a white man in charge of "their" country. That smacks of the 'privilege' they have enjoyed.... well, forever.
We in the black community are waiting for that January day, when those four (or more) black-skinned people, including Obama's central African-skinned grandmother in her African garb and head dress, stand behind Obama on the Capitol steps, watching her grandson take the oath of office. Millions of Afrcan Americans will be in tears. It would be a day we never thought any of us would see. And we may not see it still, but at least it is no longer taboo to think of it realistically.
I repeat. Millions of African Americans will be in tears.
Unfortunately, so will millions of Archie Bunkers, but obviously not for the same reason.
Having said that, the task at hand will be keeping Barack alive through all that. But should he get there, this nation will actually FINALLY somewhat resemble the words on it's parchment, held in its hallowed archives.
Anyway, Duane, you know exactly what the strategy here is. To make this black man as foreign, as enemy-like, and as theatening to white America (the naive portion of white America, too large a portion for my taste) as possible.
It just may work.

cedar, cedar, cedar,
You chastise others for generalizing, then call everyone who disagrees with you a "dittohead". Sorry little man, I work while Rush is on, so I don't listen to the show. If I'm off, 12-3 is Jim Rome. And you'd be surprised how many conservatives agree with you on this issue. Like leftists, they aren't all that interested in freedom of choice either. Nice try though. By the way, why do you make generalizations and then chastise others for doing the same? That's sort of symptomatic of self loathing, isn't it? Wait, check with your government before answering, I wouldn't want you to tax yourself by thhinking.

Only in America can we criticize Cuba and China for being communist when the definition of communism is, in a nutshell, government dictating what you can and cannot do. Hmmm, kinda sounds like America. If America were "free" as it claims do be...then establishment owners should have the right to mandate whether or not to allow smoking in his or her place of business. I don't care either way if they do or don't ban smoking, I just find it funny that smokers don't have any rights, and non-smokers do...it smells of discrimination in the most obvious form. Non-smokers choose to go to establishments that allow smoking...they don't HAVE to...they choose too. There are many places that don't allow smoking...but that is not where the non-smokers CHOOSE to go...they go where the smokers are so they can complain about the smoke and fuel the government to pass ridiculous laws.

That was great, just messing with you cedar, I will acknowledge you never took your kids to a bar, not even as designated drivers. Iearlier I wasn't implying your kids were brats - just thought if smokers bother some people so do children at restaurant especially nice restaurants. Personally I don't smoke, just don't like big brother getting too big. I think the smoking ban should be limited to say before 9pm or maybe certain places say so many per city can register as smoking facilities. There has to be a happy medium an all out ban seems a little out of control.

Apparently "reputation" on a message board is important to you, so much so that you make up cute little names for other posters, plagiarize the writings of columnists, never make an argument outside of calling other people's arguments "stupid" "absurd" etc. Yeah your reputation shines here. I read your post explaining the asthmatic son thing, but I took the liberty of embellishing because I knew it would annoy you. I think maybe you live this place a bit more than is healthy. But if that's true, I don't care. It'll be more fun now watching you deny being a leftist, but don't worry, some people on this forum who think themselves limited government conservatives are apparently living the same lie. So at least you have company. And....weren't you done with this topic awhile back? Or is that just one more decision you cannot seem to make without government assistance?
Keep trying to justify yourself, even though it brings into question the validity of your claim to being an adult.

Anti-Intelligence posts a false allegation, then Duds tries to bootstrap on Anti's bogus charge, now Anti is using Dud's false amplification of HIS original phony claim. You two should meet, choke down a couple packs, a couple of masterminds at work, no question. LOL!!!

Generalize much Anti? I don't have much use for the Dr. Spock methods of child rearing, and our children were never permitted to act out like that in public. None of which had anything to do with the issue under discussion anyway. Man you dittoheads are sore losers, your own right-wing State Senate sold you out, why aren't you marching on Lansing with pitchforks and torches, short of breath?

When visiting California, I love being able to go into restaurants and bars without having to worry about getting an instant headache and clogged sinuses. Nor do I have to worry about coming straight home and washing all my clothes to get the smell out. I do visit mostly non-smoking establishments here at home, but there are some places I'd like to go but can't stay because of the smoke. Smokers can do whatever they want at home, but as with any right - it only extends to the point at which it may harm someone else. It's silly to think that smoking is anything but dangerous for both smokers and those nearby. Smokers have a choice, but when put inside a building, non-smokers shouldn't have to be forced to smoke with them.

Here was my earlier comment: "Drew1 I have also read conflicting articles about the lingering effects of second hand smoke, I personally have no doubt about it's negative effect on others. My son had severe asthma as a young child, the effect of drifting cigarette smoke on him was immediate and dramatic. I say again, the smokers "rights" end at the lungs of others who do not wish to "share" this loathsome addiction."
Never once did I ever state that I took him (at 4 years old) to a bar, which would have been unthinkable under the circumstances. Do you think you enhance your reputation on here by deliberately posting false claims?)

As I've posted earlier, I lived with my father for 41 years and my mother lived with him for 58 years until he died in 1998 from a NON-smoking related skin cancer. We never had any ill effects from the so-called second hand smoke and our physicals proved that.
Smoking, drinking, eating fatty foods, etc., effects different people in different ways. Some people get ill and die and others go on for years and decades and all without negative results. So go figure.
I'm certainly NOT advocating that people SHOULD go out today and start smoking. But then again there are MANY more potential sources for contracting cancer. Namely the overly polluted air we breathe, the food that we eat is FULL of chemicals, the water we drink is hardly pure and full of metals and other innate materials.
So smoking is only about 1/10 the source for getting cancer.
BTW, do you know how many times your tap water has been "used" before YOU get to drink it??? Pleasant thought, eh?
